Ricoh and Zumbox Join Forces to Simplify Digital Mailbox Solutions for Billers

Yesterday, Ricoh and Zumbox announced an alliance under which mailers can opt to provide their customers mail via Zumbox, the world's first digital postal mail system. WhatTheyThink spoke with Ricoh's Don Dew to get the inside scoop.

I will be interested in following Zumbox's acceptance. As mentioned in the article, the concept has a number of advantages, for the mailer; It is a cloud solution, managed by Zumbox and is initiated at the point of print and does not necessarily involve IT; for the consumer, Zumbox provides the ability to make cloud based archives of various documents received.

However, it may be a stretch to presume Zumbox will establish a single workflow for consumers since this presumes wide acceptance of Zumbox vs. proprietary or other competing systems.
