Will you be watching the State of the Union address tonight? If so, watch for Xerox CEO Ursula Burns as a guest in the First Lady's box. According to the informational site for the address (www.whitehouse.gov/state-of-the-union-2011) Ms. Burns was named by President Obama to help lead the White House national campaign on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education in November 2009, and is on the board of Change the Equation, a coalition of over 100 CEOs focused on STEM education that the President announced in September 2010. She was appointed vice chair of the President's Export Council in March 2010.

I hadn't read this post before watching the Address last night, and suddenly, about halfway through, the camera focused on Ms. Burns - and I was absolutely delighted! I was fortunate to have met her two years ago at Graph Expo.
