The co-keynote here at ad:tech was given by Geoff Ramsey, cofounder and CEO of eMarketer, who ran though some EGO (Eyes Glaze Over) statistics on ad spending. In a nutshell: eMarketer (as well as others, who range from the bearish to the bullish--and that latter term is a partial anagram of something else that usually comes to mind when I read projections of online ad growth) projects that online advertising will grow--despite the recession--by 17.4% in 2008, and 14.5% in 2009. Where will the money come from? Traditional advertising and marketing.

And now, the "State of the Industry" roundtable discussion is beginning.

More to come.
