In the last few months I have received some top notch print in the mail from the personalized REI Members Rewards annual divided/annual report/election ballet to a high quality rich black incase computer accessory catalog.

As I was going through last weeks mail a pattern emerged: all of the bound mail I received was FSC certified. I know — last week was “Green Week” having an eco-friendly issue was the cool thing to do — but only one of the three pieces I received was a “green issue.”

Deliver Magazine's May “Dare to Dream Green” issue was a true of a Earth Day/Green Week issue so not surprisingly was printed on FSC-Certified paper:

The second piece was from Penn Cycle and Fitness a local twin cities bike shop chain:

They even include a nice little note about why they chose print. And even though I just bought a bike from one of their competitors I still thumbed through it a couple times to read the useful tips they included.

The last piece is a custom publishing piece from a print service provider. The piece is meant to show off the printer's capabilities so it employs very imaginable offset printing technique to make the marketer and print buyer drool. From full color glossy pages to vellum inserts.

Have you received any printed piece that stood out? Let use know in the comments.
